1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things between pages and visits — for example, that you are logged in. Websites can also use similar browser storage (such as "session storage") for the same kinds of jobs.
2. Cookies this site uses
| Cookie / storage | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
lourez_session |
This site | Session cookie that keeps you logged in to your account. Only set when you log in or sign up. It holds a random code, not your password. Required for accounts, comments, likes and Loonix to work. | 30 days, or until you log out |
Advertising cookies (e.g. __gads, __gpi, IDE) |
Google AdSense and its partners | Used to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads, and — if you allow it — show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Only once ads are enabled on the site, and only if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. | Up to about 13 months |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare | The "I'm human" check on our login forms (which appear on every page while you're logged out). It may store a short-lived token or cookie to tell people apart from bots. | Short-lived |
Session storage (viewed:…) |
This site | Remembers which game pages you have opened in this browser session so a view is only counted once. Not a cookie, never sent to our server. | Until you close the tab or browser |
Local storage (lourez-cookie-consent) |
This site | Remembers whether you clicked "Accept" or "Reject" on the cookie banner, so it doesn't ask again. Not a cookie, never sent to our server. | Until you clear your browser data |
Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept advertising cookies. Google AdSense is not loaded at all unless you click "Accept". If you click "Reject", no advertising cookies are set and the ad spaces stay empty. Login cookies and the "I'm human" check are needed for accounts to work, so they don't depend on this choice. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other websites. You can turn off personalized ads at Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
3. How to disable cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies (or "Cookies and other site data").
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari (Mac): Settings → Privacy → Block all cookies / Manage Website Data.
- Safari (iPhone/iPad): Settings app → Safari → Block All Cookies.
The games still work with cookies blocked, but you won't be able to stay logged in, so commenting, liking and Loonix won't work.
